We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Higher Clerical Assistant , on a 3-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Summary: The Higher Clerical Assistant/Word Processor Operator roles within the Service play a key part in supporting the Multi Agency Safeguarding Team and other Social Worker and Personal Adviser teams in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children, young people and their families. Responsibilities: To assist in providing a reception service to callers both in person and by telephone, including message taking and distribution. To provide a word processing/typing service Assist in providing admin support to the Social Work Teams based in the North Locality, and the Personal Adviser Service. Assist in the operation of petty cash and suspense accounts Assist in ordering goods and services, processing invoices and maintaining budgetary control records, including the management of Purchasing Cards. Qualifications: You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be experienced in call handling, data inputting and database maintenance whilst working to agreed standards and strict deadlines. You will have a flexible approach to be able to adapt to changes in priorities being able to work both as part of a team and on your own initiative , with some experience of working with figures. A positive and customer focused attitude is essential. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice. You should have right to work in U.
