We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hackney to assist with the appointment of a Building Maintenance Engineer , on a 12-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Responsibilities: backss, prioritise and issue instructions for diverse reactive maintenance issues, inspect the repairs and implement payments. Manage commissions and confirm briefs with clients, establish design team needs, assist in monitoring and reviewing working practices, provide instruction when necessary and report back to the relevant post Prepare feasibility studies, produce design work and technical reports and advise about the best tender options - this will involve preparing contract drawings and valuations for work, certifying accounts and producing certificates for payments Undertake a rolling programme of planned preventative maintenance reports for Building Services installations at all of the Councils properties. Prioritise necessary maintenance work. Compile a detailed inventory of all M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) plant and installations through inspection of all the Councils properties. Qualifications: Hold a relevant degree or HND in a Building related discipline Membership of an appropriate Professional body such as The Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) or Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) A formal qualification in Facilities Management e. g Membership BIFM Experience : Practical experience of undertaking Compliance/Quality Assurance inspections and reporting on statutory compliance Significant working knowledge of the construction process and experience in ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with the works information, standard details, pre-prepared risk backssments, Significant demonstrable experience: - - in control and maintenance of records - in inspecting works and testing of materials.
