Newmont was founded in 1921 and has been publicly traded since 1925. Dimensions Directly manage the services of the Dome Site Electrical and Instrumentation Shop and field services. Reports to the Dome Site Electrical and Instrumentation General Foreperson. Purpose To organize, co-ordinate and direct maintenance activities, ensuring that the work is performed in the safest and most effective manner by managing all resources towards complying to the maintenance schedules with the least negative impact to the production plan. Essential Duties Engage in strategic planning and providing guidance and leadership to the Dome Site Electrical and Instrumentation Shop and field services. Ensure the health and safety of the crews. Promote good housekeeping practices. Conduct workplace inspections, identify risks and hazards and take corrective measures. Practice fatality risk management and the 5-point safety system daily. Conduct critical control verifications. Practice and promote Newmont’s safety programs in conjunction with the IRS. Ensure that the occupational health and safety act, Government acts and regulations and company policies and procedures are adhered to. Coordinate and ensure production targets are met as forecasted, within budget and safety parameters. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as required.
