Bookkeepers and Accounting technicians maintain complete sets of books, keep records of accounts, verify the procedures used for recording financial transactions, and provide personal bookkeeping services. They are employed throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed. Roles and Responsibilities: Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process (A/P and A/R) Record daily payments in the billing system and post to accounting software Keep accurate records (customer information, received payments etc. ) Compile and process information such as prices, discounts, shipping rates etc. Ensure customers are billed correctly for services rendered Answer customer and vendor inquiries by phone and email Request payment of pending debts in a firm yet considerate manner Negotiate payment arrangements when needed Participate in the monthly financial close process Work with the CFO to prepare financial statements Perform daily deposits at the local bank Prepare weekly and monthly bill runs using the billing tools Collaborate with finance and sales professionals to maintain accounts receivable Required skills and experience: Completion of a college (or University) program in accounting, bookkeeping or related. OR 2 years of a professional and recognized professional accounting program 4+ years of combined experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance or related field 2+ years of experience with: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Power Point etc. Sage 50, Quick Books, Quick Books Online, or other accounting software Spreadsheets and Data Entry Desired skills: Bilingual, in English and French Driver’s license and access to vehicle, or ability to travel to client sites Working knowledge of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong attention to detail Strong.
