Our client's Land & Habitats Business Unit team currently has a need for a GIS Specialist on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Newbridge and will report to the Legal Mapping Lead and Legal Services Manager. The successful candidate will be supporting the lead mapper in updating the GIS database as well as mapping and survey services for the legal team. The successful candidate will also support the Legal Mapping lead in the delivery of legal mapping services, PRAI mapping along relevant ongoing mapping for different projects. The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following: Prepare high-quality appropriate maps to PRAI mapping requirements, mapping for wind farm projects, greenway projects, and all other relevant mapping services for the legal team Liaise with third-party legal executives and legal executives within BNM to carry out detailed research of historical land records The successful candidate will prepare and write concise reports and generate title schedules on the GIS database All employees are expected to cooperate fully with all provisions taken by the company to ensure the Health and Safety and welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own and the wider team's objectives The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge, and attributes: Degree or completed course in GIS or working towards the same Proficient in the use of GIS and surveying software 2-3 years' work experience Experience working in the GIS/Engineering/surveying sector is an advantage To have good technical ability, be able to work on one's own initiative as well as working as a team member, taking instructions, and carrying out tasks successfully The candidate will need to have good attention to detail in supporting the legal mapping lead in maintaining and updating the GIS mapping database Self-motivated.
