Position Overview Under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager, Operating Room, responsibilities include maintaining adequate levels of anesthetic supplies, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for staff and patients. Experience Previous experience in cleaning, organizing and set-up of anesthesia equipment and recent related experience in an operating room required. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide program required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with MHC Policy #A30-30. On-the-job training includes: an understanding and application of safety principles to self, staff and patients; a general understanding of aseptic techniques as they apply to the operating room; knowledge of types and function of anesthesia equipment (including but not limited to airway equipment, anesthesia circuits and ventilators, fluid delivery systems) in order to safety set-up, clean, and organize storage of same; training in care of specialized equipment such as Fibro-optic Bronchoscope; maintenance procedures for CO2 absorbers.
