Subsidiary: Miller Paving Limited Locatoin: Markham, ON What Does a Junior Accountant Do? As a Junior Accountant, you will work closely with the Senior Accountants and Divisional Controllers providing accounting support, reporting and analysis. As a Junior Accountant, You Will: Documenting all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner. This involves entering data into accounting software or ledgers, such as inventory tickets, consumption entries and general ledger entries Reconciling sub ledger with GL accounts such as inventory accounts, AR, and AP accounts Supporting accountants or controllers in the month-end and year-end closing processes. This may involve preparing journal entries and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded Providing necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits Collaborating with other departments or subsidiaries to gather financial information, resolve discrepancies, and provide support as needed Other duties that many be assigned What You'll Bring: Accounting or Business diploma or degree and/or enrolled in CPA program with up to 3 years’ relevant experience in reviewing accounts and solving accounting discrepancies Effective written and verbal communication skills Proficient user of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail Miller is proud to provide this unique career opportunity, we offer continuous learning, opportunity for growth, and a competitive compensation package.
