Buyer Fruit & Veg – Leading Procurement Business - £35K + Benefits Role: Buyer Fruit & Veg Location: Hybrid Surrey HQ Salary: £35K + Benefits My client is a leading procurement business who supply some of the most well-known businesses in UK hospitality and Foodservice. They are currently looking for a Buyer to join their team. The successful Buyer will be responsible for maintaining and nurturing relationships with existing suppliers while seeking opportunities with new suppliers to enhance the business position across the Fruit & Veg categories. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Buyer to join a market leading business who can offer unprecedented market exposure and progression opportunities. Responsibilities include: Learning and developing your procurement and buying skills. Manage supplier contracts to ensure the timely delivery of products to meet business needs. Develop and maintain relationships with all existing and new suppliers. Build great relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the internal team to help identify future opportunities. Identify market trends and insight around best in class procurement and apply learnings to our approach, processes, and procedures to keep us ahead of our competition Develop and maintain a great internal and external network and working relationships with key stakeholders. The Ideal Buyer Candidate: Have end-to-end supply chain knowledge and experience within Foodservice, FMCG or Retail. Have a good knowledge of Fruit & Veg categories. Be a confident presenter with the ability to multi-task, remain calm under pressure and always maintain a strategic viewpoint. Be an exceptional negotiator and relationship builder. Experienced in developing category strategy. Good communication and organisation skills.
