The Department of Natural Resources and Renewables is responsible for the development, management, conservation and protection of forest, mineral, parks and wildlife resources and the administration of the province's Crown lands. Together we are working with Nova Scotians to build a better future through sustainable natural resource management as we all benefit from the natural health and wealth of the province. About Our Opportunity As the Project Engineer, you will plan, design, implement, and administrate a wide variety of construction projects. You will be implementing planned infrastructure (facilities, sites, roads, bridges, trails, buildings, etc) projects within provincial parks. The work you do will help to further develop and support recreation throughout the Nova Scotia Provincial Parks system. Primary Accountabilities You are responsible for the planning, design, implementation, coordination, evaluation, backssment, and administration of a wide variety of new construction, repair, upgrades, and improvement projects within the Nova Scotia Provincial Parks System. Responsibilities include the development, preparation, administration, and coordination of tender documents, cost estimates and specification writing. You are responsible for ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with all national and provincial codes and regulations, adheres to procurement policies and process, accessibility standards as well as all occupational health and safety codes and regulations.
