We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Basingstoke to assist with the appointment of a Payroll Officer , on a 3- month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Responsibilities: Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly and annual returns to HM Revenue & Customs and the County Council and respond to requests for information as and when required. Creating and producing reports and ensuring data is held in line with retention and data protection policies. Ensure HMRC are suitably advised and processes followed in relation to benefits and reward package, and changes to payroll. Administer the councils car allowance schemes and ensure that staff are rewarded in accordance with agreed policies. Provide pension quotes for individual employees and HR Business Partners, and update and maintain the County Councils pension system with information on starters, leavers and relevant changes that impact staff. Keep abreast of legislative changes and developments in best practice with regards pay and rewards systems and attend the Hampshire Payroll Officers Group. Ensure payroll in house payroll procedure guides are in place and kept up to date. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice. You should have right to work in U.
