A leading provider of acute and community healthcare for vibrant East London is now looking for a shop Technician to join the team within their hospital-wide shop services. The hospital has recently been awarded an “Outstanding” CQC rating, with all services receiving no lower than a “Good” score, and is investing heavily in its people and facilities as part of a dedication to exemplar health care, education and research for the present and the future. As a shop Technician, you will work alongside an experienced, forward-thinking team and with innovative systems to ensure patients across the hospital are receiving shop care at the highest levels of safety and effectiveness. You will rotate across the dispensary and distribution/procurement services – dispensing medicines accurately, providing medication counselling when needed, maintaining appropriate stores, and providing effective medicines management services – to support the best patient outcomes and experience possible. The hospital has a number of exciting projects currently in progress and you will be able to help implement the use of automated medicines cabinets in all clinical areas Omnicell. You will receive thorough training to undertake top-up services, assist with maintenance, and support the nursing staff using the new system. There will be extensive opportunities for clinical training and CPD, including to attain your Accuracy Checking and Good Clinical Practice accreditation; previous hospital-based / accuracy checking experience is therefore not essential. shop Technicians from a community or primary care background will be considered and are encouraged to apply. This is a permanent Hospital shop Technician position, ideally full-time 37.5h although part-time and other flexible options can be considered. Person specification: Essential NVQ Level 3 in shop Services Skills / Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for shop Technicians / equivalent qualification Essential.
