Purpose Contributes to the overall success of design management working as part of a dynamic team within Scotiabank's Real Estate department and ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Senior Designer will execute and oversee the design of new concept branches, renovations, relocations, consolidations, and downsized branches, including layouts, 3D development, signage, and exterior façade design. Working with external architectural consultants, the Senior Designer is responsible for the quality of the executed projects. Responsible for the design development phase in preparing an outline specification which describes the proposed materials and construction systems in general terms and provides basic information on appearance, texture, operating and performance criteria, etc. they express intention and inform the specifications which will be developed in the next phase of construction documents. Accountable for the review of the consultant’s performance in maintaining the standards and quality of construction; provide guidance to the contractor by interpreting the BNS standards, recommending solutions to meet budget and design intent, answering questions verbally and, when required, issuing necessary documentation, including supplemental instructions and proposed changes, in order to allow the progress of work on site.
