Linear mappings: kernel, image, dimension theorem, isomorphisms, matrix of a linear transformation. Change of basis, invariant subspaces, direct sums, cyclic subspaces, Cayley-Hamilton theorem. Inner product spaces, orthogonal transformations, orthogonal diagonalization, quadratic forms, positive definite matrices. Complex operators: Hermitian, unitary and normal. Spectral Theorem. Isometries of R2 and R3. Estimated course enrolmen t: 130 Number of positions : 1 Size of appointment : 40 hrs Sessional dates of appointment: Jan. 1, 2024 - Apr. 30, 2024 Salary : $52.26 per hour + 4% vacation pay Minimum qualifications : Completion of several mathematics courses with high grades. Demonstrated understanding of the course material and beyond. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
