Date Posted: 12/20/2023 Req ID: 35493 Faculty/Division: Faculty of Arts & Science Department: Department of Art History Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: Course Number and Title: FAH231H1S Baroque Art and Architecture Course Description: Major forms of expresson in the visual arts ca. 1600 - ca. 1750 with particular attention to forms, techniques, theories, and patronage of the arts as well as biographies of artists in Italy, France, the Netherlands, Flanders, Germany and England. Number of Positions: 1 Estimated Course Enrolment: 120 Estimated Hours of Work (approximate) : 135 total hours Schedule: Wednesday 5-7 pm. Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024; Final backssment period April 10-30, 2024. Please note: This position includes the completion of any course work and marking not finished by April 30, 2024. Salary : $52.26 per hour plus 4% vacation pay Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Qualifications: Background in Art History including historical and geographical breadth as relevant to the course material. Postdoctoral Fellow, Doctoral candidate or MA in Art History or related field is preferred. Interest in pedagogical methods should include student engagement as well as innovative backssment and assignment development. Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position. Duties : Attending weekly lectures; grading, tabulating and tracking grades; invigilating tests and exams; and may require office hours for academic counselling of students.
