Job Summary: Provides educational, preventive, surgical, prosthetic, therapeutic and restorative services supporting total health for the control of oral disease and promotion of oral health. Oversees immediate dental clinical staff, and responsible for direct patient care consistent with professional standards and CHS policies and procedures. Essential Job Functions: Provides direct patient care and treatment. Examines teeth, intra-oral and extra-oral tissues, and diagnoses patients' hard tissue and soft tissue conditions. Orders, reviews, and documents findings of radiographic imaging. Assists with reviews and recommending changes in dental clinic policies, procedures, and protocols as needed to achieve Community Health Clinic goals. Assists in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and the Orientation of community health center staff as requested. Actively participates in and supports Quality Assessment/ peer review and improvement activities in the organization. Attends appropriate meetings and conferences as required to promote clinic goals. Participates in clinic committees as requested. Assists with Supervising, evaluations, and training of dental support staff, such as dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and student dentists. Assists Billing Office staff in obtaining necessary information to assure accurate and timely billing and appropriate collections. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team. Actively participates and is accountable for duties assigned that support the Mission and Values of being certified as a Patient Centered Medical Home. Completes all patient documentation in the EHR thoroughly and accurately. Closes all patient encounters within 72 hours and before the end of the month. Education and Licensing: Graduate of an accredited dental school with DDS or DMD degree required Maintains current license in Wisconsin to practice Dentistry. Maintain current DEA registration numb er Bi-annual BLS Certification required Related Work Experience: Experience in dental school extramural training in general public dentistry preferred COVID- 19 Consideration: CHS requires all colleagues to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, unless they are approved for a medical and/or religious accommodation that prevents them from being vaccinated.
