Staff Accountant-FBO Fuel Operations

Objective The Staff Accountant is responsible for entering all revenues and expenses into the financial record keeping system. In addition, this position will be responsible for updating fuel reports, balancing airline and FBO fuel inventories. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, fixed asset ledger, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. Responsibilities and Duties Supports budget and forecasting activities. Responds to inquiries from the CFO, and other finance personnel regarding financial results, special reporting requests. Works with the General Manager to ensure timely monthly financial reporting and accounts receivable. Competencies Strong character and integrity Ability to work under pressure and multi task, and meet required deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good technical skills Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with a large automated accounting system a plus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel Prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Reporting Relationship This position reports to the General Manager. Work Environment This position operates in a professional environment, which may include exposure to all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is an exempt position. Travel Minimal travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting. Prior FBO or Aviation experience preferred but not required. Five years prior experience in the financial report/general ledger areas Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with a large automated accounting system a plus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
