F or over 20 years Riverhills Neuroscience has been the region's premier provider of comprehensive neuroscience care by offering a complete diagnosis, education, treatment and rehabilitation services for individuals with the diseases and injuries of the nervous system. The Medical Scheduler is part of the Central Scheduling Department, scheduling for all four locations and specialties at Riverhills Neuroscience. This position has the flexibility of optional hybrid schedule once fully trained. The hybrid schedule consists of working in the Norwood office minimum of 1 day per week and the option to work from home on the other day(s). Job Overview: Schedule appointments for patient visits for all the physicians according to each individual physician's protocol. Review, process and return all scheduling requests in a timely manner. Cancel and reschedule appointments as needed to accommodate the physician's schedule. Accommodate requests from the physician/clinical staff to schedule appointments for emergency cases. Obtain and verify personal, demographic, and financial information for each patient and enter all necessary information into the practice management system. Communicate to patient their financial obligations and/or refer patient to the billing business office. Confirm patient appointments and manage appointment recall. All other duties as assigned. Background and Experience One (1) year of prior health care scheduling experience is preferred. Healthcare experience required. Must be able to work 9 am to 5:30 pm. Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management system is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office is preferred. Ability to speak effectively and present a pleasant, professional demeanor. Sound judgment, maturity, and an ability to establish good rapport with patients, public, and staff. Capacity to deal with severely ill patients. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information according to policy. Ability to calmly handle multiple tasks at once. Ability to deal with patients and staff with tact and diplomacy. Good interpersonal skills.
