Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area for over 70 years. We are certified as a 'Best Christian Workplace' by BCWI, a national institute that consults faith-based organizations. We currently seek a Senior Manager of Women's Services that will lead a team of staff members and volunteers to serve Light of Life's female guests and their children. This leader oversees all existing Women & Children's programs, keeping the m equipped and a t capacity. The position reports to the Director of Programs . The ideal person for this job is a mature Christian , commi t t ed to excellence , and effective in collaborating . We seek approachable leaders who support their teams as empathetic relationship builders. This role is likely appealing to those who exhibit the attributes of a servant leader and gain satisfaction from assisting the restoration among their neighbors. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads Women and Children's program staff as a cohesive team while continuing to create a healthy work culture . Creates synergy across the key elements of W&C programming: emergency shelter, addiction recovery, life skills and long-term residential services. Partner with community partners, public agencies, and service providers to build and sustain a strong network of referral services. Support the Development Group by providing expertise and stories of transformation to advance Light of Life's Mission. Foster impactful church and volunteer engagement. Actively collaborate with Light of Life's men's programming and social enterprises. Due to the interface with in in a Christian Community , all staff at Light of Life are require d to : Walk alongside clients and co-workers as a disciple of Christ , shar ing the Gospel through action s and words. Establish mutual trust while supporting a safe, authentic environment . Exhibit love for Jesus Christ, the staff, and the clients. Help guests make choices that are justifiably in their eternal best interest. Practice stewardship of all resources. Model personal responsibility, accountability, timely reporting , and a growth-oriented lifestyle. SKILLS : Disc ern drug and alcohol issues in others Ability to teach others about addiction prevention and recovery Strategic and extemporaneous d ecision - making Conflict resolution and peacemaking Effective listening and edifying communication skills Connecting with others and making conversations safe Time management Self-evaluating EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in the Social Service /Human Service field + 5 years related experience . T hree 3 + years previous supervision experience recommended. Knowledge of controlled substances, addiction , mental illness, homelessness , and poverty issues . 1 2-Step r ecovery knowledge strongly desired. Expertise on clinical setting s and treatment for clients who are dual diagnosed. HMIS experience and knowledge preferred .
