Maintenance Technician

Description:
INTERMOUNTAIN FARMERS ASSOCIATION has an immediate opening for a full time MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN to work out of our Trenton, Utah feed mill. This position is part of a maintenance team that is responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs at two livestock feed mills located at Trenton and Lewiston, Utah. These mills manufacture bulk and bagged livestock feeds for distribution throughout northern Utah and surrounding states. Success in this position requires hands on work with industrial equipment and mechanical systems as well as constant communication and coordination with mill production managers and operators. A passion for safety, customer service and the ability to work effectively under pressure is essential. Duties and responsibilities include: Strict adherence to all IFA safety policies and practices. Learning and understanding all mill mechanical and control systems. Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance activities and processes as assigned. Assisting with vehicle maintenance and repairs as needed. Coordinating daily with operations and production management to schedule maintenance activities, troubleshoot equipment problems and make timely repairs to minimize production down time. Assisting with detailed record keeping on preventive maintenance activities and maintaining equipment information and maintenance files. Coordinating with and assisting outside contractors in the completion of major mill repair and upgrade projects. Qualifications include: Two years of industrial or heavy equipment maintenance experience is preferred. Experience with grain processing equipment and conveying systems is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in welding, electrical motors and systems and a fundamental understanding of automation and control systems are highly desirable. Organized and detail oriented with the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects on any given day. The ability to work in a physically demanding environment under all weather conditions. Flexibility to occasionally work outside of regular daytime hours and be on call as needed. Highly dependable team player willing to embrace the vision and mission of Intermountain Farmers Association. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred). Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
