Come Join Our Growing Team! We are looking for a Business Development Director with Clinical Research/Bioanalysis experience to join our team in the US . The persons primary objective will be to prospect and close new business opportunities that will help meet Pharmaron's sales targets for our Phase 1 Clinical Pharmacology Center (CPC) in Baltimore, and our nearby Advanced Bioanalytical Sciences (ABS) facility in Germantown, MD. This position will also contribute to our core commercial strategy to grow sales of integrated pharmaceutical clinical development programs in North America and be a key member of Pharmaron's broader US Business Development team. Responsibilities: Research and identify new biotechnology/pharmaceutical clients developing therapeutics, to qualify and validate these prospects and establish new contacts within these companies relevant to Pharmaron's Phase 1 clinical and bioanalysis services portfolio Establish and maintain client relationships of the highest quality, to strengthen existing relationships to maximize cross-selling business opportunities Work closely with internal and external clinical/bioanalytical/project management teams in addition to colleagues in business development to develop effective partnerships and strategies to maximize business opportunities with clients (both stand-alone clinical and bioanalytical studies as well as integrated projects that combine clinical with bioanalysis, biomarkers, metabolite profiling and metabolite ID) Manage (together with support from internal scientific operations) new business opportunities from initial inquiry, proposal development, negotiation through to closing of orders Meet quarterly and annual sales targets Maintain SalesForce CRM database with up-to-date information on sales leads (inquiries), prospects and opportunities, CDAs/MSAs, quotations and task orders to facilitate generation of management reports for accurate tracking and forecasting Issue monthly reports for your area of responsibility Attend client meetings and conferences as required (we make extensive use of the hybrid model of F2F with virtual TC platforms like Zoom, Teams) Gather and report all relevant market intelligence data Input and positively influence our business strategy for early-phase clinical development through close and collaborative working with senior management team If business is not meeting its strategic objectives, to collectively work with the BDM team, scientific operations, and management to agree on action plans to address issues - specifically to work with our entire team to assist and implement solutions and/or new objectives Cultivate, manage, and maintain critical professional relationships with key internal stakeholders in operations and foster close working relationships between BD and Operations Learn the clinical and bioanalytical space and understand the safety, PK and key clinical endpoints of Pharmaron's services in Phase 1 clinical research and bioanalysis Develop effective and collaborative relationships with BD colleagues alongside RLS (Radiolabeled Sciences), DP&C (Discovery, Preclinical & Chemistry), and US Lab Services Qualification: BSc in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, life sciences or similar Relevant CRO industry Business Development experience Prove Hunter ability in sales In depth knowledge of the CRO and Pharma industries
