JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for assisting and providing support to the Finance Director and outside CPA Consultant. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Entering accounts payable into QuickBooks Paying recurring bills online by ACH Entering American Express receipts and reconciling to monthly statement Generating monthly resale store reports and entering revenue into QuickBooks Calculating resale monthly sales tax due and filing quarterly returns online Posting online donations in QuickBooks to match bank deposits Preparing bank cash deposits Exporting monthly department P&Ls from QuickBooks into Excel Updating accrued and prepaid expense schedules Maintaining files in our administrative offices as well as in storage ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES: Maintains all clients, financial, staff, volunteer and other appropriate information as confidential in nature. Maintains a tidy, organized work area. Represents the agency in a positive, professional and enthusiastic manner at all times. Presents a neat and appropriate appearance. Works cooperatively with others. Completes all work in an accurate and timely fashion. Understands, supports and enhances the goals and objectives of Laura's House. Works flexible hours as required. Performs other duties as assigned. This description reflects the principal functions of the job for the purpose of job evaluation. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in general accounting. Upon hiring, attend and complete the State Certified 40-hour Domestic Violence training. Nonprofit organization experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of general accounting procedures and internal controls Excellent oral and written communications skills Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and basic computer skills Ability to exhibit respect for others by using courtesy and tact with all interactions Work well independently as well as with others Ability to prioritize and multi-task Ability to solve practical problems in a quick and timely manner and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in a written or oral form. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
