Hopewell Federal Credit Union is currently searching for a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Member Payment Solutions Specialist (Collections) at our Heath Branch. Hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with Saturdays as assigned. Credit Union Member Payment Solutions Specialist (Collections) is responsible for working with members to anticipate and prevent issues from making their payment obligations to the credit union. Work will include developing suitable work out plans, following up on payment promises, working with attorneys on legal action including bankruptcy, lawsuit and judgements, skip tracing and searching for recoverable assets. Ensures that the credit union image is maintained. Job Duties: Present an overall professional image in the areas of dress, communications and conduct. Supports the credit union's mission: "Help its members and their families get ahead financially." Makes frequent contact with credit union members via telephone, email, branch appointments to work out payment arrangements. Responsible for helping the credit union maintain a prudent delinquency ratio and adequate recovery efforts. Keeps accurate activity reports on delinquent and pre-delinquent accounts. Effectively documents within the system all collection action taken, including all telephone, email, in person visits, or text communication. Recommends possible loans and shares for charge-offs. Performs all other duties and functions as requested by management. QUALIFICATIONS: At least 1 year of collections experiencePresent a professional image at all timesEffective and positive communication skills (listening, inquiring and educating)Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations as well as established internal credit union policies, procedures, and guidelines.Demonstrates strong judgment, trustworthiness, and confidentialityDemonstrated knowledge of product & servicesDetail orientedAble to follow policy, processes, and proceduresStrong time management skillsDependableProficient with Computer Systems, MS products, and banking systemsAbility to achieve positive outcomes with upset/anxious membersBondableMust be able to work some Saturdays 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and be available Monday - Friday during normal business hours.
