Junior Accountant – Accounts Payable

Description:
Salary: $20-22 per hour-Part Time Reports To Finance Manager Major Responsibility: Process accounts payable and billing as required. Maintain accounts payable records and files. Coordinate approved purchases. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare payables for each program as required. Review and compare receiving records for invoices. Record approved purchase requisitions for payment. Submitted approved purchases to vendors. Collate checks, purchase orders, and invoices for signature. Mail authorized payments. Work with program staff to confirm the accuracy of all billing entries. Process other billing as required. Maintain communication between Department Supervisors and vendors regarding any questionable invoice, purchase request, or billing. Prepare schedules and reports as required. Maintain accounts payable files. Use a postage machine, copy machine, and computer equipment. Special projects as requested. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Knowledge of accounting theory and practices. Ability to perform assigned tasks accurately. Attention to detail. Good arithmetic skills. Ability to bend and lift 20 pounds Excellent computer skills: EXCEL, WORD, and Fund-EZ. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree or equivalent with two years of billing experience. OR Education and experience may be substituted for each other on a year-for-year basis. CATEGORY: CLERICAL / NON-EXEMPT
