Certified Wound Care Nurse LPN/RN TUPELO NURSING AND REHAB IS SEARCHING FOR THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE THAT HAS A SET OF HEALING HANDS!!! LPN/RN NEEDED FOR EVERY OTHER WEEKEND TREATMENT NURSE DUTIESJOB KNOWLEDGE AND ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.e. physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning delivery of care.2.Knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: alzheimers, dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious diseases, wound care, and all disease processes if applicable.3.Provides nursing care in accordance with Resident Care Policies and Procedures and ensures the safety and well-being of the residents is maintained.4.Makes daily rounds for all areas of nursing care under his/her supervision, visits each resident to evaluate physical and emotional condition to receive comments relating to the resident's needs and problems, and implements necessary nursing interventions.QUALIFICATIONSSUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:1.Is a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State.2.Previous work experience in a long-term care setting. Supervisory experience and organizational skills in a long-term care setting preferred.3.Is listed in good standing as confirmed on the State Department of Professional Credentialing.4.Possesses excellent technical assessment and documentation skills, and leadership qualities.5.Possesses good communication skills and is patient and self-disciplined.6.Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.General DescriptionThe Treatment Nurse is responsible for the skin and wound care of residents with anemphasis on prevention and treatment of skin disorders. The Treatment Nurse followsthe established nursing Care Plan and makes appropriate adjustments as resident careneeds and/or physician orders change. Assists with the duties of the staff RN, LPN orcertified nursing assistants when needed.Essential Duties1. Identifies, plans, implements, and evaluates skin care in residents.2. Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin disorders.3. Performs evaluation using observation and inspection techniques.4. Confers with the Care Planning Team in the development of the Care Plan.5. Provides and documents, including staging and treatment of skin disorders withinestablished wound care protocol and monitors ongoing skin and woundtreatments.6. Monitors the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning andpositioning.7. Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, inaccordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and thepolicies and goals of the Facility.8. Provides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques andother ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status ofthe resident.Standard Requirements1. Adheres to:a. Confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operationsdata.b. HIPAA regulationsc. Quality Assurance requirements and compliance with regulatoryrequirements.d. Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environmentfree from sexual harassment and illegal and discriminatory behavior.e. Code of Conduct and Compliance Programs when performing jobfunctions5. Supports and participates in common teamwork:a. Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plans and completesjob duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriatejudgment.b. Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotionalsituations.c. Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residentsregarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.d. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members andguests.e. Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance,uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other workduties as assigned.f. Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates apositive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.6. Immediately reports incidents of alleged resident abuse or neglect or allegedviolations of residents' rights to Director of Nursing or Executive Director.7. Knowledgeable of age specific developmental factors specific to adult andgeriatric residents (i.e. physical, cognitive and socialization factors) in planningdelivery of care.8.
