As a Maintenance Technician , you will be responsible for the overall Resident experience through preventative maintenance and repairs for all areas of the community to include all public areas, apartments, corridors, heart of the house, exterior areas of building, grounds and landscaping. This is to be handled in The Sterling Touch® friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner, resulting in a very high level of Resident satisfaction. This position is under the general guidance of the Maintenance Director in accordance with Community standards, processes, procedures, practices and philosophy. Essential Functions: Participate in Start Sterling! line up each day. Greet the Residents, guests and employees in a friendly and courteous manner. Respond quickly and efficiently to all Resident requests. Establish and maintain high cleanliness, sanitation and organizational standards in all apartments, public areas and heart of the housework and storage areas. Maintain and repair all areas in accordance with the established Community Preventative Maintenance Program. Immediately correct and report any unusual findings or safety hazards. Document all work performed in an apartment, public areas, heart of the house and exterior using the established process. Assist in performing shift engineer's daily check list and report any abnormalities. Assist in performing all safety tests as directed. Respond to Resident and emergency calls within predetermined response time periods. Remain current on any required certifications; review all departmental safety information (e.g., JHA's and MSDS's). Complete work orders and shop assignments in a timely manner. Assist in ensuring the building and grounds are walked daily for light bulb replacement and maintenance needs. Keep all maintenance Records and Logbooks updated daily. Know, understand and practice Community emergency, life safety and security procedures and requirements. Maintain par stock inventory of all necessary tools, parts and materials. Assist with community vehicle maintenance. Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Training in building maintenance/engineering including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, painting, and plumbing, highly preferred. Experience: Experience working in senior living community, hospital, residential, hotel or similar building engineering environment, preferred. L icenses or certificates: Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate for a maintenance position in Assisted Living communities. Schedule: Full-Time Hours Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
