WIC NUTRITIONIST Adagio Health Inc is looking to hire a full-time Nutritionist for its Beaver County, PA WIC office. WHAT MAKES ADAGIO HEALTH A GREAT PLACE TO WORK? Adagio Health serves women and their families in predominantly rural communities where access to healthcare services is scarce. Adagio Health's services include family planning and reproductive healthcare, breast and cervical cancer screenings and early detection programs, access to nutritional food, healthcare referrals, education and breastfeeding support to new moms, prenatal care, and education on topics such as healthy relationships and substance abuse. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NUTRITION ASSISTANT WIC Nutrition Assistants at Adagio Health focus on determining eligibility, scheduling, and customer service for our WIC Participants, as well as supporting nutrition education and office duties. Our Nutrition Assistants have a high school diploma or GED. A day might include: loading benefits, answering phones, scheduling, discussing nutrition education topics, assisting in food security screenings, general office tasks, offering referrals and breastfeeding support. RESPONSIBILITIES Elicits and records identifying information about participants/patients in medical chart following established guidelines. Performs anthropometric measuring and blood work analysis on participants/patients using established protocols. Assists Nutritionist/Certified professional Assistant in providing basic nutrition information to participants/patients. Documents participant/patient screening data, referrals and services in appropriate records. Follows up on participants/patients who have missed appointments. Schedules appointments and assists with office arrangements. Participates in training and maintains a working knowledge of program policies and procedures. Issues records and ensures security of WIC checks according to established policies and procedures. Provides high quality customer service and marketing interventions within the service area. Works in any Nutrition Services program as needed; see program specific job description. Responsible for making/receiving phone calls and answering questions from program participants. Tracks and maintains data specific for agency and/or WIC program. Determines income eligibility for new and existing participants on the WIC program following established guidelines. Assists with maintaining office mail, email, voicemail, and inventory of supplies. Maintains processing standards when scheduling appointments following established guidelines. Places orders for special formula in coordination with supervisor. Prepares for satellite clinics by prepping participant charts, organizing and loading equipment, signing out equipment, and assists in set up at satellite site. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A NUTRITION ASSISTANT High school diploma or equivalent education required. Four years related work experience and/or additional education desirable. Must maintain PA Criminal background check, FBI clearances, and child abuse clearances. Must have valid driver's license. Local travel required.
