CFDRC is seeking an Aerospace Engineer interested in applied research topics and related projects involving CFD tool development, adaptation, and integration to usable products. The initial tasking will support developing a CFD tool for DoD customers interested in analyzing the potential effects of weather on high-speed missile systems. The tool is used to predict high velocity weapon system performance during variable weather and climate conditions. This position will require educational background and/or experience in solver development for compressible flow challenges. This position will also be computational technology software development mixing the applied math, physics and computer science disciplines to bring high-fidelity, predictive models to the market. The position provides a challenging work environment with excellent opportunities for growth and advancement. Requirements: Position will require candidates to have the following: Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineer or closely related STEM Discipline (PhD's encouraged to apply as well) Experience with Inviscid flow solvers, panel methods, boundry layer methods, and/or 6-DOF models. Experience with or exposure to CFD Software Development, namely finite volume approaches on structured and unstructured grids Preferred candidates will have experience or interests in the follow: proficiency in C++, exposure to C or FORTRAN Experience devleoping new toosl of concepts from scratch, specifically related to high-velocity external flow problems Good written and oral communcation skills.
