At River Edge Developmental Disabilities Services our caring well-trained staff partner with individuals, families, loved ones and other providers to offer individualized choices, options, opportunities and supports that promote each individual's valued social roles, pursuing expanded hopes and dreams, learning new skills, and living the most independent, meaningful life possible. Though people say "developmental disabilities," we see "different abilities." Crisis Response Services : River Edge makes available evidence-based crisis response services for children, youth and adults who experience a behavioral crisis in a community setting. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, River Edge provides mobile, individualized crisis de-escalation interventions, in-home supports or residential alternatives to emergency room visits, law enforcement involvement or other institutional placement. River Edge is currently looking for an on call person to provide in home support. Multiple positions are available during day time hours. Responsibilities: As a Crisis Service Worker you will be required to: Monitor general client activity to observe and report behavior/progress and when necessary intervene in problem situations using established CPI procedures. Provide training and or direction to clients in a variety of areas depending on client needs. Complete required documentation in client/unit records as assigned. Participate in providing a clean, safe, and attractive environment for clients, visitors, and staff. Provide assistance in admitting and discharging clients. Orienting them to the facility as directed by the charge nurse. Attend required meetings, trainings, and educational opportunities as required.(at least 17 hours per year) Must stay current in CPI, CPR and First Aid. Requirements: HS diploma/ GED Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation Acceptable Driving record Acceptable background check Must pass drug screen Current physical/ TB test Acceptable references. Ability to pass basic CPR and first aid Due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to provide information on application status by phone or e-mail.
