The approximate 100 square miles of the district are protected from 11 facilities that are staffed with over 200 professional Paramedics, EMTs, and Firefighters to deliver programs focused on risk reduction and emergency mitigation. Paid time off- 24 hours personal each year; Vacation 24 hours first year, 216 after one year of continuous service; 6 hours Sick per pay period State Pension Fully paid health, dental, vision, short term disability and long term disability Length of service increases - at the end of three years salary would be $63,720.31 (3% LOS increase the first three years; 1% thereafter) Cost of living increases - as approved by the Board of Trustees This non‐suppression position requires the employee to perform emergency medical response duties approved by the Board of Trustees. The Paramedic performs routine and regular maintenance of equipment, facilities, and the apparatus of the Department. This position also provides public education and training on topics of life safety, health, fire prevention, and other related topics as deemed necessary by the Department. Depending on Department need may be required to become trained Firefighter after one year of residency and before three years of service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. National registered Paramedic or Kentucky licensed Paramedic Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support Pediatric Advanced Life Support BLS Healthcare Provider Effective written and oral communication skills. Willing to work any assigned schedule as required. Maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in Emergency Medicine, Fire Science, or related field. Operations level Hazardous Materials certification.
