We have an opening for an experienced Industrial Engineer at our Manlius, NY facility. Industrial Engineer: General Description/Purpose : The Industrial Engineer will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Industrial Engineer does this by coordinating, planning and executing engineering projects including product costing, time studies, and LEAN / continuous improvement projects focusing on the elimination of waste and improving efficiencies and overall productivity. The Industrial Engineer completes these functions in the support of the manufacture of furniture. Job Responsibilities : Develop product costs for new products Determine production times, staffing requirements and validate product costing once product is released to production Actively participate in LEAN / continuous improvement projects; partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to improve process flow and elimination of waste Assist with the analysis of work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and layout of equipment to maximize efficiency Determine / document standard work for manufacturing processes Create layout drawings for facility projects and established other required administrative documentation Stay up to date with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials Work independently and make decisions based on established operating procedures Required Experience / Essential Skills : Solid understanding of Lean principles Prior experience leading cost optimization activities Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate well with others Excellent computer skills Self-motivated / self-directed Excellent problem-solving skills Willingness to challenge the status quo Ability to work effectively in a changing environment Required Education : Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering / technical discipline Desired Experience / Skills : Prior experience in furniture manufacturing or related industries Travel : 5% Benefits We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Flexible Paid Time Off Program Paid, holidays, health, prescription, and dental insurances Company paid life insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match Flexible spending account Generous employee discount Stickley is an equal opportunity employer.
