PROJECT ENGINEER (FLOOD CONTROL) Dibble Engineering employs the industry's finest engineers, designers, and planners, providing expertise and valued resources for municipalities, private clients, federal, state, and local agencies. Dibble Engineering is looking for a skillful and highly motivated Project Engineer to join our Flood Control Team. This role may work out of any of our offices in Arizona and Colorado . SUMMARY : This role of Project Engineer is responsible for hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, drainage master planning, preparation of detailed design drawings and contract documents for drainage/flood control projects. Additional responsibilities include developing concepts, design reports and technical memoranda. This role reports to Flood Control project managers and senior engineers. ACCOUNTABILITIES : Coordinate all aspects of project life cycle, including Clients/Owners, design teams, internal staff and all other resources. Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D and FLO-2D and others. Conduct project site reconnaissance Conduct drainage analyses and prepare drainage master plans. Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, reports, and technical memoranda. Able to lead and organize small teams of personnel (EIT, designers, and drafters). Assist project managers and senior engineers in preparing and managing project schedules and budgets. Provide quality reviews of personal work and work by designers and engineers in accordance with company's quality control program and processes. Attend and participate in client meetings. Assist in developing marketing proposals (prepare technical understanding and approach). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications : Candidate will enjoy working in a team-oriented environment and have a strong commitment to the Values of the Company. The candidate will have the ability to participate in complex and high value projects, provide project engineering oversite on multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality or effectiveness, make sound decisions for the benefit of the project and the Company, and be able to consistently meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality. The candidate must also be technically proficient in hydrologic and hydraulic principles. Demonstrate a strong knowledge in the analysis and design of flood control systems. Demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of flood control engineering principles. Demonstrate competence in the use and application of AutoCAD and Civil3D. Ability to mentor and train other CAD Designers and Engineers-In-Training. Strong technical writing skills, and ability to convey engineering decisions and concepts to non-technical and technically based audiences. Ability to work within a variety of team environments, including varying team sizes and personnel. Able to organize and multi-task efficiently. Able to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines. Education and Experience: Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, from an accredited college (Master's Degree is preferred). Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona and Colorado OR be able to obtain a PE license within 6 months of employment. Minimum 6-10 years of engineering experience. Minimum 3 years of experience working in Civil3D. Minimum 2 years of experience working in ArcGIS. Must have experience in a variety of hydrologic programs including DDMSW, HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and FLO-2D amongst others.
