Wage: $25.00 p/h Employment Benefits: https://discovergoodwill.org/benefits/ Summary: The Digital Navigator will provide individualized assistance remotely, in-person by office, as well as outreach within the community to vulnerable individuals who lack digital literacy skills, access to computing devices, or internet. The Digital Navigator will assess basic eligibility for services, perform an initial assessment to learn technology & connectivity needs & current digital skills level of program participants to assist them with accessing computer hardware, internet, & basic foundational digital literacy skills training. Previous navigator or facilitator experience & minimum 1-year experience in a customer service role preferred. Ability to speak Spanish, Amharic, French, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Arabic, Farsi, & Punjabi preferred. This is a grant-funded role. Localized driving required using company &/or personal vehicle. Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, & proof of personal auto insurance. Must pass background, driver, & fingerprint check. Education &/or Experience : High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience &/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following: Provide ongoing outreach to communities in need of digital navigation support, with a particular focus on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color) communities, individuals seeking work, families supporting students, immigrants, & refugees, English language learners, senior citizens, & individuals experiencing poverty (households at or below 135% of Federal Poverty Level) who are experiencing barriers to technology, Internet, &/or digital skills. Provide one-on-one remote & in-person tech help to individuals in need of help navigating a device. Act as a liaison & connect people to devices (computers & hotspots), free or affordable home Internet service options, & share information about Goodwill's digital literacy classes for ongoing/advanced digital skills training. Prepare outgoing Chromebook hardware for program participants, including device updates & creating Google &/or Outlook accounts with users during device deployment. Prepare outgoing hotspots for students & collect information needed to set up the initial 6 months of service. Provide information & help communities apply for Emergency Broadband Benefit & other low-cost internet services like Comcast Internet Essentials so students have internet access beyond the initial 6-month period. Ability to listen, communicate, & interact tactfully with a diverse population. Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, be detail oriented, & manage time to accomplish tasks to meet assigned timelines. Provide excellent internal & external customer service with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional & cordial manner through oral & written communications with others at all levels. Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness & observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents. Work collaboratively with Workforce & Family Services to provide participant services. Follow all policies, procedures, & directives of Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest assuring safety of personnel or property. Properly wear & maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain agency confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal. Comply with & promote good safety practices. Maintain an orderly work area. Comply with all health, safety & fire standards & all local, state, & federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
