Job Summary:The payroll clerk will be responsible for review of timesheets, addition and removal of benefits, updating personnel information, and overall review of the payroll system to ensure payroll is correct for processing. There are 2 bi-weekly payroll processing and 1 semi-monthly payroll processing.Duties/Responsibilities: Enters, maintains, and processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, bonuses and/or other compensation, address changes, time worked, paid leave and holidays, and other information. Run 1st timesheet audit reports 2 days before payroll processing to ensure employee mileage, drive time, etc. is correct. Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for tax withholding, benefits, retirement, and other deductions. Calculate and issue or reissue physical checks due to payroll bonuses, employee terminations, or payroll errors and enter into accounting software. Payroll service prepares quarterly tax return. Payroll clerk will download returns and reconcile quarterly reports to accounting software through usage of various excel spreadsheets. Maintains detailed files to assure accurate and complete documentation of payroll/personnel transactions. Then when payroll is complete be able to file in employees payroll files. Keep abreast of payroll system procedures, updates and changes. Performs other duties as assigned Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Accurately and rapidly perform mathematical calculations by hand and by machine Communicate clearly and effectively in routine and stressful situations Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites especially Excel Experience in web-based payroll system Education and Experience: Associate Degree or Related Payroll Work Experience of 2 years
