JOB TITLE: Program ManagerREPORTS TO: AdministratorFLSA STATUS: ExemptJOB OVERVIEW: Manage staff-to-client ratio, to meet clinical outcomes, customer service and budgetary criteria. Main location is in Gretna La but will need to assist with the Hammond LA location. Must be an Occupational Therapist. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Conducts departmental meetings, in-services and projects. Completes 90 day and annual employee reviews. Coordination of departmental operation (i.e. staffing) Demonstrates appropriate initiative and judgment in solving operational problems. Identify skills gaps and determine how to fill them. Responsible for department performance improvement. Review and update department policies and procedures manual. Attend management meetings. Develops staff talents and abilities. Encourage and support staff to participate in problem-solving activities. Models ethical, moral and compassionate behavior. Offers frequent suggestions and ideas. Keeps material costs within authorized limits. Evaluates, selects, maintains equipment and supplies skillfully. Communicates effectively. Is a good team player. Participates in patient, family, and staff education. Confers formally and informally with other team members, including nursing department team members, in coordinating the total rehabilitation program of the patient. Attend in-service meetings and facility meetings as required. Provides in-service education to the members of the patient's care team and education to the community. Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development. Records billable treatment times according to Therapy Department procedures. Knowledge of Medicare Benefit Policy Manual as it relates to payment requirements/documentation requirements for therapy as described in the Medicare Benefit Policy Manual; publication 100-02 (coverage of Inpatient Rehabilitation Services) Provides treatment in accordance with established standards of practice and department procedures Maintains safe and clean work area and adheres to facility/company safety standards. Complies with all Infection Control, Universal Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional. Consistently demonstrates sound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation and follow-up of patient therapy programs. Maintains positive relationships and rapport with coworkers, patients, family members and facility personnel. Reports to work on time and coordinates schedule to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during assigned shift. Assists with and participates in Quality Assurance Program as required. Adheres to established confidentiality standards. Projects a positive and professional image at all times. Performs other duties as assigned. Professional Requirements: Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean. Completes annual educational requirements Maintains regulatory requirements. Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time. Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly. Completes in-services and returns in timely fashion. Attend annual review and departmental in-services, as appropriate. Attends staff meetings; reads and returns all monthly staff meeting minutes Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (PI) activities as directed. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. Complies with organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility Knowledge of IRF PAI Manual and the ability to communicate all elements to Therapy staff. Regulatory Requirements: Current Louisiana Occupational Therapist licensure Minimum of two years' experience directing a multi-disciplined team.
