Plasma Water Jet Operator

Description:
This will be a weekend shift 6 am-6 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You will work 36 hours and get paid 40. Training will be done during the week. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKEND SHIFT! Candidates must have experience working as a Water Jet Operator in a manufacturing environment. Ability to effectively communicate with other manufacturing employees, while maintaining a friendly and cooperative atmosphere. Must be well organized and have good time management skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Advise the Shop Lead of the status of work in progress, problems encountered, and time worked on a job by use of the time clock or written log of time. · Complete understanding of how Water Jet Machines operate in order to recognize/determine the proper function or malfunction of the machine. · Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. · Plan and develop a layout as outlined on blueprints and templates into a computer file. · Verify break marks, dimensions, and reference points on material as guides for subsequent machining. · Set controls to regulate cutting factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. · Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. · Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications. · Every Friday afternoon machinery, console, and surrounding area must be wiped down and cleaned. · Maintain a clean and organized work area. · Control excess materials by squaring off material to be returned to stock or placed in scrap containers. · Contact technical assistance, engineers, or others to resolve equipment problems. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: · Technical School Certification preferred; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. · Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: · Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. · Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: · Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. · Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Use hands, ears, and eyes to inspect equipment/parts. · Specific vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. · Reach with hands and arms. · Stand, walk, climb using ladders, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl · Lift and/or move up to 80-100 pounds.
