Looking for an opportunity to get some hands on experience and build your resume? Sunroc is looking for an intern who wants to gain some on the job training and learn about the construction industry. This internship will be through our sand & gravel and ready mix divisions. Interested? Please see the full job description below. FUNCTION: The intern position is primarily responsible for assisting managers in designated assignments and learning more about the construction materials industry through experience. KEY ACTIVITIES: Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values Assist location operation managers to plan and review daily work and make business process improvements as directed by the Area Manager Assist with daily business duties, including, preparing material price quotes, sampling materials, preparing submittal information for projects, coordinating logistics with suppliers and data entry into key systems Learn about the construction material industry through assisting managers. Track supply quantities for billing purposes. Maintain an insurable driving record. Ensure a safe and healthful work environment Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Intermediate knowledge of construction industry Good public relations and communication skills Good organizational skills Ability to work under pressure, deal with budgets, and tight project schedules EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Science degree program studying construction management or civil engineering.
