Sheakley Workforce Management Services is currently seeking a senior safety specialist for a position in Toledo, OH. Our client is one of the nation's leading contracting firms. Construction Safety $100,000 plus bonus program Direct hire W2 position with full benefits structure 40+Hrs/Wk Relocation assistance for the right candidate Our client is looking for candidates with experience in all phases of building construction, and managing large projects (50 mil to 250 mil). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: As a member of our client's safety team, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the company associates in achieving safety excellence by helping to identify existing and potential safety risks on current and upcoming projects, providing training, and performing site visits to verify that safety regulations and company policies are consistently implemented company-wide. There is potential for career advancement within the safety department for this position. SKILLS: • Ability to engage, communicate and positively influence others • Strong time management and organizational skills • Availability for shift work, travel, and out-of-town assignments EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • Candidates should have 8-10 years of construction safety experience with the proven ability to identify workable solutions to eliminate hazards • Strong background in constructions procedures and processes • BCSP certification or similar certification preferred • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, or related field preferred • Experience with developing and facilitating safety training • Experience managing safety on large, complex projects Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality Outgoing personality, self-motivated Excellent customer service, telephonic, electronic, and written communication skills. Analyze and recommend improvements for safe work practices, policies and training programs. Technical experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Use of standard office equipment. Organization, attention to detail, flexibility and strong ability to multi-task interfacing multiple client situations on any given workday. Ability to work in a fast paced environment without direct supervision. Must embrace a team based, initiative driven environment. Effectively work with others to build consensus and rapport Work conditions are typically warehouse, clinical, manufacturing facilities, construction projects, and field conditions.
