Description:
Position Summary The Nutrition Program Assistant will teach eligible clients in nutrition education. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Instructs clients in nutrition education. Recruits clients such as limited-resource youth, families with children, pregnant women, and grandparents raising grandchildren. Coordinates with collaborating agencies to extend program outreach to eligible clients. Recruits, trains, and utilizes volunteers to assign in program marketing, data collection, program delivery, reporting to national database. Participates in health fairs and other community events. Establish and meet program standards for performance and positive impacts. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of community and social service programs for limited resource families. Valid driver's license. Reliable personal transportation with liability insurance in effect are required and maintained throughout employment. Ability to travel throughout service area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate degree related to health education is preferred. Two years of experience working with limited resource persons is required. Physical Requirements Ability to sit at a work station for extended periods of time. Occasional ability to lift, carry, put away parcels weighing up to 25 lbs. Normal physical mobility, agility, strength, dexterity, coordination, and endurance.
