JOB DESCRIPTION - COST ACCOUNTANT We are looking for an experienced Accountant with a strong cost accounting background to join our growing corporate team. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for production and inventory accounting for our production facility in Kansas City as well as other general accounting functions at the facility and across the organization. This role will also lead and participate in other special projects and analysis as required. To be successful in this role, you will have a strong business understanding and the ability to address tactical and strategic financial accounting and operational challenges in a rapidly changing industry. This role will be primarily work-from-home and may reside in the Chicago or Kansas City area. POSITION SUMMARY Primarily responsible for managing production and inventory cost accounting processes for manufacturing facility. Coordinate with plant personnel on inventory control processes, compliance and reporting requirements Work with team to develop and maintain production and cost accounting platform for facility Manage other day-to-day accounting functions for production facility Maintain general ledger, subsidiary accounts, and reconciling entries as required. Work with other accounting team members and associates throughout organization to improve business processes and integrity of financial data Assist in completion of internal and external audits Manage all financial data in compliance with GAAP and other legal requirements. Maintain a high degree of professional integrity and confidentiality with respect to company data and assets. Role reports to Controller REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 5-10 years' experience in manufacturing accounting/finance CPA preferred Experience working with multiple legal entities Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment preferred Experience with GAAP and other reporting compliance requirements PREFERRED SKILLS Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong written and oral communication skills Able to work well with individuals across the organization Software: Microsoft tools, Quickbooks, Leaf Link, Metrc Detail oriented and thorough Deadline-oriented Desire and passion to learn and grow in an exciting and rapidly expanding industry ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Terrabis is an Equal Opportunity Employer
