The YMCA is seeking energetic and dedicated child care Youth Specialists to p rovide direct supervision in a safe, fun and educational environment for all School Based program participants. Our Leaders p rovide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. If you have a strong desire to encourage learning, mentor and be a positive role model for children, you may have an opportunity for a rewarding career with the YMCA. PROGRAM HOURS: Before-school hours: 6:30 am - 8:30am. After-school hours: 2pm - 6:00 pm. Flexible schedules may consist of before-school, after school or a combination split shift ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises an assigned group of children to ensure safety Nurtures children and provides academic growth opportunities that support the school curriculum Engages children by facilitating program activities that are designed to enrich their lives. Establishes a positive rapport with children, parents, and staff while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times JOB REQUIREMENTS Must be 16 years of age or older Must have a high school diploma, GED, certificate of completion, or provide proof of enrollment in high school or a GED program if graduation is anticipated within 2 years. 1 year previous child care experience is preferred Desire and ability to work with children of all ages Demonstrated responsibility and dependability Excellent communication skills CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred COMPENSATION & BENEFITS $14.00 per hour FREE YMCA membership for employee and discount for family FREE Before and After School child care 403(b) savings plan and 12% Employer funded retirement plan upon eligibility Career advancement & growth opportunities Paid trainings & Free CPR and FA certification Consistent afternoon schedules & weekends off Resume builder & leadership opportunities A challenging and fun work environment with creative, talented and diverse individuals!
