Stark Compression is seeking a Staff Accountant ! This position is responsible for providing key support across the organization by supporting the Operations Controller and being an integral part of various accounting tasks including financial reporting, GL accounting and month-end close processes. How are you successful in this role? Assist in preparation of financial statements for specific entities by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from other departments. Maintain account balances by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data. Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports. Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, & reconciling accounts. Prepare payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts. Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, & recommending changes. Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. Provide accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information. What are we looking for? Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required Strong mathematical and analytical skills required Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to read and analyze financial reports required. What we would love to see? At least 2 years' of experience in accounting or related field preferred. Knowledge of ERP systems preferred. Sage Intacct experience a plus! Who are we?
