Purpose: Using information from each patient's chart, transcribe diagnosis and treatments into codes for billing to submit to the insurance company through the EMR system. This process in vital to the income stream of the practice. Qualifications: At least one year experience in billing and coding Proficient knowledge of CPT codes Experience working in a medical office setting Description of Duties: Reading and analyzing patient records Determining the correct codes for patient records Using codes to bill insurance providers Interacting with physicians and assistants to ensure accuracy Keeping track of patient data over multiple visits Managing detailed, specifically-coded information Maintaining patient confidentiality and information security
