Eligible for $500 signing bonus after 90 days of employment. JCM Associates, Inc. is hiring Journeyman Steamfitters for full-time year-round positions in Washington, DC. JCM Associates, Inc. provides mechanical services along the East Coast region. We take pride in every project we take on and strive to communicate and accomplish the goals each one of our clients sets out to achieve. These services include new construction, renovation and maintenance of HVAC and Plumbing systems for plan-spec, design-build and design-assist commercial and high-rise residential buildings. The job sites for this position will include commercial construction projects of various sizes. Key Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of a designated supervisor, install, maintain, and repair heating, chilled water, condenser water, high and low pressure steam and gas piping systems. Assemble and install piping, valves, and fitting. Minimum Skills/Requirements : 5-10 years of experience with commercial mechanical projects Strong communication skills Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems Ability to read, understand and work from drawings, specifications and schematics Understands written and verbal instructions Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Attendance, reliability, dependability and flexibility Ability to interact with multiple personality types while ensuring a positive outcome Knowledge of appropriate tools and equipment to install piping and plumbing systems. Knowledge of welding, brazing, threading and other plumbing and piping techniques. Maintain and service the tools and equipment necessary to install commercial mechanical piping systems. Sufficient knowledge of pipe hanging and support installations. Have sufficient knowledge of safe working practices and maintain and support company safety programs and attend company paid safety training.
