The Opportunity The company is looking for an energetic Director of Product Management for the Enterprise Solutions to sustain growth with several prominent software products each having extremely loyal customers in the pharma and CRO space and drive innovation in providing integrated data collection and analysis tools for the vast portfolio of Harvard Bioscience products. With its global role, the Director of Product Management will collaborate with development teams located in Minneapolis/St-Paul, MN but also with development teams in Holliston, MA and Germany, Reporting to the Vice-President of Product Management, the Director of Product Management will work with a cross-functional team from Engineering, Applications, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance and Scientific Services to refine the product offering. To be successful in this job it is expected that you will reside in the Boston or Minneapolis area. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration required. Key Responsibilities You will serve as the catalyst and champion of growth for the integrated solutions portfolio. You will create and implement commercial strategies, for the launch of new products and for existing and installed base products in the CRO and biopharma space. You will be responsible for the improvement and innovation in your product portfolio, including how to better serve our customer's data collection and reporting for their new molecule development and clinical studies. There will be a strong focus on upstream activities for growth in top and bottom line You will regularly provide business/market analyses including but not limited to, market trends, market share, Average Selling Price and Gross Margin, and competitive analysis You will create a cohesive offering leveraging the existing business strengths You will be accountable for the P&L for your product line. You will review financials and other key performance metrics and report to management as needed You will review pricing for your portfolio and coordinate relevant pricing updates You own the creation and implementation of annual business plan and multi-year strategic plan for your product portfolio You will develop and manage the product portfolio roadmap based upon deep understanding of customer, application, technology, competitors, and product economics You will work with the Engineering team to configure and streamline the existing and upcoming portfolio, to increase market penetration and customer satisfaction You will initiate insight generation to populate value propositions for your portfolio and you will lead efforts to validate value propositions through voice-of-the-customer input You will translate validated value propositions into detailed commercial and market requirement specifications and business analyses to kick off new product development and improvements You will collaborate with the Marketing Communications team for developing direct to customer and sales channel communication strategies, tools, and scientific/trade meetings You will identify and spearhead Business Development Partner and Key Opinion Leader relationships. You will work closely with the Applications Team and Scientific Service Team to support customers, and pre and immediate post-sale activities You will develop a portfolio of applications in collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders and our Applications team You will initiate actions to further strengthen the company's brand and market awareness while generating sales leads Work Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in a Product Management Role required. A minimum of 5 years of experience within Life Sciences or Biomedical Research preferred. Knowledge of the drug development process or clinical trial reporting requirements is a plus.
