The position is based out of the Swanton, Ohio location and the hours are Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 4:00pm. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Fabricator's responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems. Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, flame resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety toed footwear. Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. Ability to fabricate and construct metal and steel components Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods. Ability to specialize in manufacturing and assembling equipment or devices, ensuring every product's quality and efficiency. Maintain welding fixtures and tooling in a suitable working order Read, understand, and follow work instructions and engineering blueprints Visually inspect weld quality and use other quality inspection equipment to confirm compliance to part specifications. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work area Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Willingness to test and pass welder qualification test Thorough understanding of tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair Previous fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints Knowledge based and working background in MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel products Must be able to complete a manual welding test. Welds are judged on functionality and esthetics. Advance knowledge of measuring devices such as, calipers, scales, gauges and micrometers Must be able to perform accurate mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) Ability to work with fractions and decimals A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record Strong mechanical abilities Fast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment Detail oriented approach to daily work activities Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn PREFERRED SKILLS At least 2 years' fabrication experience Ability to read, interpret and understand Work Orders. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling, Stooping (Frequently) Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds (Occasionally) Temperatures (Occasionally) ADDITIONAL NOTES May require overtime with little notice before or after normal work hours or weekends.
