We are strategically growing our footprint throughout the United States. Our first store opened in Melbourne, Florida in December 2019 with 35,000 square feet, 250+ unique vendors. Our second store opened in Highland, Indiana on Black Friday in 2021 and expanded to 60,000 square feet in March 2023. AAM Highland has over 300 booths and 350 showcases. Our excellent front-line team has filled the stores with talented Vendors who have in turn filled the stores with over 1,000,000 pieces of unique inventory within their rented booths and showcases. America's Antique Mall is opening our third location in Algonquin, Illinois, off of North Randall Rd at Grandview Commons. The store will be one of the largest Antique Malls in the Midwest with over 50,000 square feet of floor space and more than 500 booths and showcases . You will be a huge part of creating the BEST Antique Mall in the country! America's Antique Mall takes a modern approach to an age old concept bringing elevated building designs, beautiful and open lay out, pre-built booths for rent, gorgeous glass showcases for collectibles and great customer service. Not only will the mall have a wide assortment of classic antiques and vintage, it will have refurbished furniture, home decor, collectibles, sports memorabilia, jewelry, gifts and much more. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of highly driven, growth-oriented owners and entrepreneurs who have a passion for creating the best physical marketplace for small business owners and hobbyists alike (our vendors). The Algonquin Store is in the planning phase with construction drawings nearing completion. We anticipate interior construction to begin in May and be completed by September 1 with a soft opening planned on October 1 and a Grand Opening planned for Friday November 24th Black Friday Sale! Who We Need The First Six Months: Prior to the November 24th grand opening, your main focus and duties will be (i) pre-leasing of space to vendors which the home office will begin as soon as April 15, 2023, (ii) ground game marketing and sales to sign up qualified vendors, (iii) hiring assistant manager and store staff, (iv) setting up and running marketing events and promotions to drive traffic and interest in the store for customers and vendors alike, (v) assisting in organizing and setting up the store. You will be in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, requiring you to wear multiple hats. You will have influence and be a key decision-maker in our strategy and growth. Customer service, hustle, and sales focus is a top priority for this position. The ideal person will have (i) prior experience as a retail store manager or assistant manager and (ii) knowledge and experience in sales, marketing, and customer service. As the Store Manager, your ongoing mission will be the following: Provide exceptional Customer Service and a great shopping experience Support our Vendors and provide a consistent and helpful Vendor experience Maintain a stabilized occupancy of over 90% Drive sales through online and ground game marketing and weekend events Job Description Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel Help develop and implement marketing strategies to raise store occupancy and fill the mall with quality vendors Host successful events to drive sales (car shows, vintage markets, etc.) Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service Meet occupancy & sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to staff Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures Maintain outstanding store condition and visual standards Propose innovative ideas to increase occupancy and store sales Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths Deal with all issues that arise from staff, customers, and dealers (complaints, grievances, etc.) Be a shining example of good behavior and high performance Additional store manager duties as needed Key Criteria/Requirements Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education 3-5 years of retail sales required; retail management experience and a college degree preferred Strong understanding of sales, marketing, and customer service techniques Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills Experience with interviewing, hiring and evaluating candidates, and assessing employee performance General computer and software skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word) People-focused Demonstrated ability to maintain and work within a budget Strong communication and interpersonal skills Willing to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
