If you have experience with rotary and surface grinding , review our position opening and apply Position Description: Successful candidate must be able to setup, operate, and be capable of grinding various materials including low carbon & alloy steels, cast iron, 300 & 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, copper alloys, etc. Determine wheel or segment selection, work holding requirements, stock removal requirements to hold previous machined features, grinding speeds, and the grinding procedures to meet the part's specification. Change wheels or segments as needed. Verify and maintain fluid levels. Work to blueprint specifications to ensure quality product. Load parts, cycle machine, and detect worn or damaged wheels and machine parts. Run production lots, inspect work, communicate with co-workers regarding production runs. Maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment. Position Requirements: 3 + years set-up and operation of Grinding machine equipment (experience with Madison Rotary & Surface Grinders preferred). Must be capable of grinding various materials including low carbon & alloy steels, cast iron, 300 & 400 series stainless steels, aluminum, copper alloys, etc. Utilize work holding devices, variable magnets, vises, fixtures, vacuum chucks, etc. Maintain required grinding tolerances: Rotary .005" thickness, flatness & parallel; surface .001" thickness, flatness, and parallel. Surface finishes 125, 63, 32 and 16 RA Straighten material before and after grinding using a hydraulic press and granite table. Change wheel & segments as needed. Sets machine controls to specified grinding speeds & feed rates. Must be able to do multiple setups daily. Have the ability to follow written work instructions. Blueprint reading Develop and demonstrate basic knowledge of 5S and Lean principles to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization. Commitment to continuous improvement through self-education and company sponsored training. Must be able to physically lift/push/pull objects up to 50 lbs. High school diploma or equivalent Must be eligible for employment in the U.S. Candidates must submit to a background check, physical exam, and drug test. Training for this position will happen on 1st shift (day shift Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) Position is for our Morning shift (Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. -2:30 p.m.) or Afternoon shift (Monday - Friday 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) Don't let this better opportunity pass you by.
