Job Description: The Department of Economics, Marketing, and Analytics in the Leavitt School of Business at Southern Utah University is seeking applicants for a full-time Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Economics to begin in August of 2023. This is a permanent, non-tenure-track position. We are looking for candidates with either an MS or PhD in economics, or a closely related field, who can provide quality experiences in the undergraduate curriculum. While teaching duties may be varied and somewhat flexible, the department has a particular need to cover courses in Principles of Economics (Micro and Macro), Quantitative Methods, and Managerial Economics. Teaching load is generally 4 or 5 courses per semester, depending on qualifications. Other responsibilities include maintaining professional and/or academic qualifications to remain qualified in an appropriate AACSB category (see https://www.suu.edu/business/faculty-staff-resources.html for a description of school policy); mentoring students; and providing service to the department, school, or university.Southern Utah University is a comprehensive, Masters S institution serving about 13,000 students. Education and Experience Requirements: Required Qualifications:1. Master's degree or PhD in Economics or a closely related field.2. Persons holding a PhD must meet the academic requirements to be qualified in the Scholarly Academic (SA) category or the academic and professional requirements to be qualified in the Practice Academic (PA) category. Persons holding a MS degree must meet the academic and professional requirements to be qualified in the Scholarly Practitioner (SP) category or the professional requirements to be qualified in the Instructional Practitioner (IP) category. Ability to provide an excellent educational experience for students.Preferred Qualifications:1. Relevant teaching experience at the university level.2.
