A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MORTGAGE LENDER As a Mortgage Lender, you are in a revenue-generating position that makes an immediate impact on our bank's income--all while helping make the "American dream" of homeownership become a reality for your customers. You represent Mercantile in the community with your high professional standards and build relationships in order to establish our brand (and yours) and generate consistent and stable referral sources. You connect with customers to learn about their goals and match products and services that meet those needs. You are a member of a team that is focused on doing the right thing every time and you will love "being in the know" within the Mortgage Industry. You will lead the entire lending process to ensure that it is seamless for the customer, you originate mortgage applications, conduct interviews, investigate mortgage loan products, and promptly notify customers of approvals or denials. You promptly submit weekly and monthly pipeline reports pertaining to mortgage loan activity and with attention to detail, you make sure that all files are accurate and up-to-date. As a collaborator, you partner with our Retail, Commercial, and Treasury teams to recommend other services that add even more value to your customer. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MORTGAGE LENDER Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of experience in sales (preferably in banking or lending 2 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry Mortgage sales experience with a monthly production volume of at least 4-5 units closed totaling $750,000 Must become registered and licensed in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) Strong sales and relationship-building ability Knowledge of the local market. LENDING WORK SCHEDULE Mercantile' s Mortgage Lending Office is located at 9050 Centre Pointe Drive, West Chester, OH 45069. The schedule for this full-time lending position is flexible to accommodate working where the customer is . It is a requirement of this position to be out of the office generating your own business.
