General Description/Purpose : The Continuous Improvement (CI) Leader will provide an elevated level of service to ensure key business objectives are achieved. The CI Leader will lead the overall Continuous Improvement / LEAN implementation at the Stickley case goods plant in Manlius, NY. This includes improved factory efficiencies, improved material & product flow, reduced production waste, improved first pass yield (FPY), implementation of visual controls, 6S program and supports the overall multi-year growth plan for the Manlius facility. Job Responsibilities : Lead site Continuous Improvement / LEAN implementation efforts Develop and maintain overall site Hoshin / X-Matrix that aligns with corporate goals Implement 6S / Visual Management Plan and facilitate Kaizen events Facilitate site Value Stream Mapping Document standard work Design production processes based on LEAN principles Partner with Engineering for implementation of factory automation Assist with cost optimization initiatives to improve product margins Provide input during NPI process to ensure cost optimization is achieved Function as site trainer in rolling out LEAN fundamentals Lead LEAN simulation activities Work with management, engineering and other staff regarding optimizing product flow, production schedules and implementation of cost savings ideas Communicate and work effectively with all other manufacturing employees and other company personnel and outside vendors Display a professional attitude and represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
